This cheese board is made from Solid Walnut with a stripe of stunning Tiger Maple down the middle. The darkness of the walnut highlights the luminescence of the Tiger Maple. Simply beautiful and always a pleasure to serve your cheese on. It measures approximately 8-9" x 12-13" x 1" and the tiger stripe in the middle varies as does the widths of the prettiest Tiger Maple. This beauty is made using Vermont's finest Bird's Eye Maple surrounded on either side by Black Walnut. The contrast between the Walnut and the Maple highlights the figured "Bird's Eyes" in the Maple. Bird's Eye Maple is thought to be a genetic deformity creating some fabulous wood. It usually appears about once in every 500 Maple trees. It measures approximately 8-9" x 12-13" x 1" and the Bird's Eye maple stripe in the middle varies. This board rests on Brown rubber feet attached with stainless steel screws. The cheese platter measures 11-12" x 17" and is over 1" thick. It's a beautiful slab of Vermont.
